The heat on Miami refuses to go by… plagued by a knee injury to star player Shaquille O’Neal they have made a rather ragged start to the season. And now things look to be going further bad for the Heats as head coach Pat Riley has taken an indefinite leave of absence to carter to his hip and knee problems. The 61 year old has been really struggling with his knees for some time and has finally decided that he better get them fixed up and thus would be going under the doctor’s knife sometime this Friday.
In the meantime, Heats assistant coach Ron Rothstein would take over the reins of the clubs. Though this is an interim arrangement the Miami fans would be expecting some kind of a miracle from Ron to turnaround the fortunes of the team who’ve opened with season with a 13-17 win loss record.
Rip Riley has been at the helm for almost a decade now is also the president of the Heats. His reign has been both spectacular and controversial but none can take away the fact that with Rip in charge Miami is certainly a force to recon with and with him just about handicapped for a while and not totally away looks like the heat is still on for some more time…
