Spain won the match easily against Honduras by 2-0 in Group H. The match was played in Ellis Park stadium, Johannesburg. The mighty Spain had been in a great form before the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but they started playing on a wrong foot. Now, they are looking for more wins to stay on in the tournament. The only time Honduras ever played against Spain in an international match was in the 1982 World Cup. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Spanish team fought back like a wounded tiger as they had lost their first match to the Swiss team. They were under a huge pressure to play well and they did it perfectly. David Villa, the Spanish superstar striker, scored two goals in either side of the break against the Honduras team. He helped his team to rise up in the points chart next to Chile. Villa could have scored a hat-trick if he had not missed a penalty in the second half of the match.

The second half of the match started very badly for Honduras as Villa doubled the advantage by scoring a second goal in the 6th minute after the restart. The shot was 20 meters away from the goalpost. The ball deflected off the knee of Osman Chavez and evaded the outstretched hands of the Honduras goalkeeper, Noel Valladares.
