The mighty German team has done it once again! In the knock-out round or second round of the FIFA 2010 World Cup, Germany defeated England by 4-1. For the records, this match was the most sensual one till date! The English team lacked complete confidence to move further. The emotions were over-riding and the expectations were very high for both the teams.

Last time these two teams faced each other, it was in 2002 World Cup qualifier. There the English team played a stunning match and emerged as the winners by 5-1. Germany is the winner of Group D whereas England is the runner-up of Group C.

It was a nightmare for the English team. The decisive move was Germany’s sharp, intelligent attacking strategy. The match kick-started at the Free State Stadium, Johannesburg. German players Lukas Podolski and Miroslav Klose scored the first two goals for their team. English player, Matthew Upson scored England’s first goal in the match. England’s captain and superb player, Steven Gerrad made a lovely pass to Upson and he scored a goal. This was England’s first and last goal.
In the later half, Thomas Mueller scored two more goals for Germany. This lead he’s team to win with 4-1. But on a sad note, England are out of the FIFA 2010 World Cup. Now, the mighty German team will face the South American giant, Argentina in the quarter final.
